Former Cheese-heads turned Nashvillains Foreign Fields released an EP, What I Kept In Hiding, a few weeks ago that is both smooth and scintillating all in one drizzly spoonful. The duo is made up of Eric Hillman and Brian Holl who have said their influences range from Sigur Rós to Bjork to Radiohead.

Between To Begin, Little Lover, and I Have Your Weapons, it's nearly impossible to choose a favorite, but overall the EP has a power and cohesion to it that is not often found this early on for a band. With fluid vocals and well placed electronics, their electro-folk sound breaks up the folk scene, which is probably why they scored a spot on this years SXSW roster. Check out their video for Little Lover.

Don't you know that it's a simple world, with a simple end / Don't be shy come come through your fence / I love this world but now it's time for it to disappear

If you like S. Carey or Broken Social Scene, you'll probably find something here.
